The design work carried out over the last year has confirmed that the original preferred option through Middlefield best meets the scheme objectives including reduced congestion, improved journey time and reliability and improved road safety.

“The £3 million we committed to the design work means we can now confirm a preferred option for Haudagain which local residents and road users can now view and I would encourage them to have their say on our proposals.
“This option, which is the original preferred option, will provide the best journey time savings, reducing congestion and the risk of accidents. It will also provide safe crossing points for pedestrians and cyclists.”
The designs for the new road are on public display in Aberdeen. Transport Scotland will consider all comments made with a view to publishing draft orders in summer 2015. Work is expected to start in spring 2018.
