Traffic technology company SWARCO UK & Ireland has announced that it will support national road safety charity Brake, with a target of raising £10,000.
Founded in 1995, Brake says it campaigns ‘to stop the tragedy of road deaths and serious injuries in road crashes, make streets safe and healthy places for all, and support road crash victims’.
It delivers Road Safety Week and is the national provider of care and support to victims of road crashes and their families through the National Road Victim Service, ‘helping families cope with the shock, turmoil and devastation that road crashes cause families across the UK every day’.
John Pickworth, managing director of SWARCO UK & Ireland, said: ‘We are committed to fostering safer roads and communities for all.
‘Brake is an inspiring and important organisation that aligns with our values of safety and collaboration, and we look forward to supporting them to promote awareness and education on the critical importance of road safety.’
SWARCO said that as part of its ZERO HARM initiative, it will be delivering a series of fundraising activities throughout the year, with the aim of raising £10,000 in support of the charity.
Laura Challis, corporate partnerships manager at Brake, said: ‘We’re really grateful to have been chosen by SWARCO as a charity they want to support this year.
‘It’s wonderful they share our goal to reduce death and injury on UK roads. With their support, we can continue to raise awareness and campaign for change.’
