RSMA signs 'Fairness, Inclusion and Respect' partnership

20/02/2024 | DOMINIC BROWNE

The Road Safety Markings Association (RSMA) has become the first highways trade association to sign a formal collaboration partnership with the Supply Chain Sustainability School under the industry-wide Fairness, Inclusion and Respect (FIR) programme.

The partnership is built on a 'shared commitment to fostering fair, inclusive, and respectful workplaces, and driving cultural and behavioural change,' the RSMA said.

It aims to support the built environment sector with the tools and resources to help develop a more inclusive and sustainable future.

This partnership will benefit RSMA members by:

  • Providing access to exclusive FIR resources including webinar recordings, e-learning modules, videos, and research reports.
  • Providing access to FIR training including virtual training sessions, including workshops, webinars, and conferences.
  • Access to the FIR Growth Assessment to measure maturity against industry-approved FIR metrics.
  • Access to join the FIR Ambassador Network to train individuals as allies to help drive positive industry change.

Rob Shearing, CEO at the RSMA, said: 'The RSMA stands firmly for fairness, inclusion, and respect. We believe in a sector where every individual is valued, regardless of their background, and where opportunities are accessible to all.

'Our commitment to fostering an environment of equality across our members is unwavering, as we strive to build a community that thrives on the principles of fairness, embraces diversity, and treats every member with the utmost respect.'

Cathryn Greville, Head of Fairness, Inclusion and Respect at the Supply Chain Sustainability School, said: 'We are excited to work with RSMA and the road safety markings sector to collaboratively move towards a future where sustainability and inclusion are integral to the fabric of our industry.

'This is a sector full of opportunity, that should be drawing from the broadest pool of talent. Together, we have the power to drive positive change, creating workplaces that are welcoming, inspire people and enable everyone can succeed, and driving a brighter, more equitable future.'
