Preliminary conference programme for Highways SIB released

16/08/2016 | HIGHWAYS REPORTERS

The preliminary conference programme for this year’s Highways SIB (Seeing is Believing) event has been released.

Visitors to the free to attend and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accredited event will hear from Roads Minister, Andrew Jones MP, and from Highways England chief executive Jim O'Sullivan; get first-hand updates from the Transport Select Committee; join in lively debates on road worker safety, asset management, technology, the resilience of local roads and the future of HMEP; and so much more.

Couple this with an indoor exhibition featuring over 70 leading companies and organisations from within the highways industry, plus two full days' worth of live, full-scale outdoor demonstrations and displays covering maintenance, safety, technology, lighting, signage and road markings. In addition, Highways SIB 2016 will incorporate a new, dedicated 'Apprenticeship/skills' zone.

Highways Magazine editor Alec Peachey said: “The team has worked hard to secure our best ever programme of speakers. With the backing of a number of leading industry organisations, including the support of Highways England as our primary event partner, this year’s event will have something for everyone.

“The beauty of Highways SIB is that many of the techniques and skills that visitors learn about and discuss inside will then be put into practice in the outdoor zones. I would encourage anyone that hasn’t already signed up as either an exhibitor or visitor to take a look at the event’s new format. We look forward to welcoming you to Leicestershire.”

Highways SIB (Seeing is Believing) is Europe’s only event for indoor showcasing of highway products as well as outdoor demonstrations and testing in all lighting conditions.

The event is taking place from 9-10 November 2016 at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicestershire. It is brought to you by Highways Magazine – the UK’s ONE and only magazine dedicated to the highway maintenance and traffic management industry – and Smart Highways Magazine – the UK’s only ITS and advanced traffic management magazine.

You can download your Highways SIB preliminary conference programme here and register here.

There is limited stand space available and more information about exhibiting can be found here. Alternatively you can speak to Robert Gouge on 01732 459683 or email robert@aladltd.co.uk.
