The new SMS+ barrier system has been designed to allow for the barriers to be easily transported and installed. Site occupation, manual handling and the need for road workers to be on the carriageway has been minimised and this dramatically improves safer working conditions.
Technical manager Ryan Wood said: “The new design is innovative in that the installation and removal is a lot quicker than conventional barriers. We design, build and install the complete system, which I believe gives our customers peace of mind. The product was an obvious choice to complement our existing traffic management portfolio and is Highways Agency approved, CE marked with a track record of proven performance across Europe.”The barrier system can be a temporary or permanent installation and customised to individual requirements.
Associate director Dennis Gregg added: “This is an excellent addition to the suite of capabilities within the traffic management contracting unit.”
