Milestone Infrastructure has secured a £1m contract under the Eastern Highways Framework Three (EHF3) to upgrade Blackburn Road in Dunstable to help alleviate flood risk.
Working on behalf of Central Bedfordshire Council, Milestone will reconstruct the carriageway, install a new drainage system and resurface the road over a 16-week period.
Alan Babbage, contracts manager for projects in London and the East at Milestone Infrastructure, said: 'We are excited to have secured our first project under EHF3 and look forward to showcasing our expertise to other local authorities within the alliance.
'This scheme provides the platform for expansion into a new geographical area, creating further opportunities for the whole business.'
EHF3 was launched by the Eastern Highways Alliance, which consists of 10 councils in the east of England.
Milestone Infrastructure is a part of M Group Services, which acquired Skanska UK's highway maintenance and street lighting business in 2020.
