Instarmac wins Queen's Award for international trade

21/04/2022 | DOMINIC BROWNE

Instarmac Group plc has received the esteemed Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade 2022, in honour of the Staffordshire-based manufacturer's outstanding overseas trading activities.

A specialist in the manufacture of cement and bitumen based products, Instarmac Group plc has been working with global partners since 1998 and since that time has seen significant growth in international markets.

Global export manager for Instarmac, Angus Longward, commented: 'It has been a great honour building our network of global licensing partners. We have a fantastic relationship with every business and support them in every way we can. I look forward to welcoming more manufacturing partners to our global family in the future.'

Now in its 56th year, the Queen’s Award for Enterprise is one of the most prestigious business awards in the country.

Tim Boniface, group finance director at Instarmac, said: 'Everyone at Instarmac is delighted to receive a Queen’s Award for Enterprise – even more so to receive it in the same year of The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

'We are very proud of our international partners and our history of trading across the globe. We have been working with our manufacturing licensees for many years and are full of pride to see their success in making the world’s roads as safe as possible.

'I am beyond excited to represent Instarmac at a Royal reception later this year and to welcome the Lord-Lieutenant for Staffordshire to our world-class manufacturing facilities in Tamworth.'

Instarmac all over the world:

  • Mr Tanaka, President of Shinreki, Japanese Licensee, said: 'We have recently celebrated our 33-year partnership with Instarmac. During that time we have built a very successful business and are now the number one supplier of Instant Road Repair in Japan.'
  • Jörg Reick, Proprietor of Instamak, German Licensee, commented: 'Our business has grown over the last 25 years and we have become a market-leader in Germany and surrounding countries.'
  • Matthew Kinson, VP Business Development, Da-Lee Pavement Products, Canadian Licensee, said: 'We only started manufacturing Instarmac Permanent Pothole Repair three years ago and we are already turning over $1m and building a strong reputation in Canada and the USA.'
