With Storm Doris causing chaos on the UK roads yesterday, Highways and transport expert Adrian Tatum, has called for resilience on the roads to tackle the problems caused by extreme weather conditions.
The Conference Director at the UK’s leading biennial traffic management exhibition, Traffex , commented, “With more frequent extreme weather in the UK, the country's highway and winter service engineers need to focus on continuing to find innovative ways of making our road network more resilient.
“Highway and winter service engineers in the UK are among the best in the world at dealing with extreme weather. Their challenge now is finding new techniques and technology to help them deliver a more effective and efficient service. They also need further support from Government both in terms of funding for resilience projects and guidance to help drive consistent management across the country."
Tatum reminds the industry that Traffex 2017 will bring together over 10,000 industry experts in order to tackle the most important issues within the transport sector.
