Construction materials firm Hanson has launched a new Collect & Go service for asphalt customers at eight sites across the UK, following a trial at its Leeds plant.
The company is now rolling out the rapid-turnaround service at seven further sites.
It said the Collect & Go service is aimed at local contractors who want to drop in at the plant first thing in the morning, collect a small load and get back to work quickly without having to wait.
Hanson UK asphalt managing director Gareth Day said: ‘We have been delighted with the results from the Leeds trial. Feedback from customers has also been very positive, in terms of both the quality of product and service.’
The service offers customers collecting up to five tonnes of standard asphalt products such as binder or dense surface course a priority time slot between 6am and 9am.
On-site shops have also been created to sell the essentials required to lay the materials, including spades, rakes, sealants and wheelbarrows.
New pedestrian walkways have been created and signage improved at each of the eight sites to protect customer safety. The correct PPE must be worn at all times and social distancing measures are in place in accordance with government COVID-19 advice.
In addition to Hanson’s Leeds plant, Collect & Go is now available at the company’s Bradford, Criggion (mid-Wales), Dagenham, Bulls Lodge (Essex), Allington (Kent), Hingston Down (Cornwall) and Southampton plants.
Payment can be made on account or by card at the time of ordering.
