The Department for Transport (DfT) has published a funding consultation document that is seeking views for the allocation of the £5.8 billion capital funding to be made available for road maintenance, through local authorities from 2015/16 to 2020/21.
The consultation builds on the discussion document, ‘Gearing up for efficient highways funding and delivery’ published earlier this year which set out a number of ways on how the DfT might allocate future funding to authorities.
Comments sent from the sector have been used by DfT to inform the consultation document.
Councils have until 5pm on Friday 21 November 2014 to submit a response, which can be sent via email to roadmaintenance@dft.gsi.gov.uk or online via the DfT consultation section at www.gov.uk/dft
