Some of the capital's greatest infrastructure projects will throw open their doors during Open House London on 17 and 18 September.
As official partners, the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) is organising a number of free events including site visits, boat trips and walking tours to reveal the often hidden contribution of engineers in transforming London’s infrastructure and built environment.
Highlights include boat tours of Central London and the Thames Gateway, behind the scenes visits to Crossrail’s Canary Wharf site, the East London Line, Blackfriars, London Bridge, waste facilities, a guided walk through the lower Lea Valley and tours of ICE London Civil Engineering Award Winners.
Over 700 buildings and sites are opening their doors across London over the weekend, all for free.
