Cambridgeshire County Council on behalf of the Eastern Highways Alliance is seeking to establish a framework of contractors to undertake highway works worth a total of £750 million.
The framework covers structural work, surfacing and maintenance, roadworks and capital schemes for highways.
Typical schemes may involve, but not exclusively highway improvements, highway infrastructure works (including bridges, subways, culverts and retaining walls), public realm works (town centre enhancements), drainage improvements, canal works and other infrastructure works such as waste management facilities.
The following local authorities are the current members of the Eastern Highways Alliance: Bedford Borough Council; Cambridgeshire County Council; Central Bedfordshire Council; Essex County Council; Hertfordshire County Council; Luton Borough Council; Norfolk County Council; Peterborough City Council; Southend-on-Sea Borough Council; Suffolk County Council and Thurrock Council.
The work will be split into two lots. Lot one will cover schemes or packages of schemes with a value of up to £1.5m.
Lot two will be for schemes or packages of schemes worth between £1m and £20m. Tenderers may bid for one lot only.
Further information on the scheme can be found here.
